Meet the Bi-Directional Barricade Light

With every product OTW puts on the market, we strive to innovate and create a positive impact. 

While we have excellent airport hazard lights, we knew we needed to add a light built to be compatible both with our barricades and most other standard construction and traffic barricades. We’ve achieved this and more with the new OTW Safety Bi-Directional (Type A/C) Barricade Light! 

So what’s new (besides the whole light)?

One of our most innovative hazard lights yet, the Type A/C solar-powered Bi-Directional Barricade Light (BDL) was reimagined to leverage improved battery technology and solar panel efficiency to provide a product that exceeds industry requirements in an easy-to-install product. 

Compared to other multidirectional lights on the market, ours has improved LEDs, independently tested and verified water and dust protection (IP65) enhanced mounting options for greater traffic control device compatibility, and a smaller overall profile to reduce shipping weight.

Like OTW’s other hazard lights, the bi-directional barricade light has an easy-on/easy-off momentary switch, with a built-in dusk-to-dawn light sensor. Thanks to the extended battery life and improved electrical design, our light maintains operational effectiveness for over 120  hours in auto flashing mode (Type A) and over 72 hours in auto steady burn mode (Type C). The factory-installed rechargeable battery pack ensures a maintenance-free experience and speedy deployment at your construction site. Every light will shine bright all night long with two lens color options: amber/yellow or red based on your application.

Perfect for use in construction zones where temporary traffic control and driver awareness are necessary, the bidirectional hazard light easily attaches to multiple types of traffic and construction barricades and devices. It’s compatible with all OTW traffic barricades, as well as nearly all Type I, II, and III A-frames, traffic drums, delineators, vertical panels, and more! 

You might pair the barricade light with our standard 42” Jersey Shape LCD or our smaller 32” Compact Jersey Shape LCD, attaching a light to every barricade for a well-lit wall. Alternatively, you might choose the lightweight and very portable Vertical Panel for a flexible and bright hazard indicator. While our airport hazard lights are specific to OTW barricades, the BDL can also be used on most barricades or traffic delineators you might already have. (While we’ve mounted the OTW BDL to many different devices during the R&D process, we can’t say we’ve tested ALL potential options. If you’re unsure, just give us a call to discuss your mounting requirements.)
