Low & Mid Profile Airport Barricades
Low profile barricades help clearly mark hazards and restricted areas around active airport operations. FAA requirements call for barricades that are highly visible, frangible, FOD-free, and built to withstand jet blast, strong winds, and prop wash. OTW designed and patented the original Low Profile Airport Barricade, the 10” AR10x96, which has been used for airport hazard delineation since 1999. For areas requiring greater visibility, the 24" Mid Profile Barricade offers a taller profile, a patented FOD-free interlocking connection, and a wide base for added stability.
Airport Barricade Flags
Barricade flags pair with Low and Mid Profile Barricades to highlight hazards with a moving visual cue. FAA requirements call for FOD-free flags measuring 20×20 inches. Designed in collaboration with Salt Lake City International Airport to cut the cost of flags becoming FOD, we rebuilt the traditional hazard flag step by step: a sturdy fiberglass dowel instead of wood, an active retention design that needs no extra hardware, and tear-resistant fabric in safety orange or bright white - a fully FOD-free system when used with any barricade in the OTW airport line - AR10x96, AR24x96 or AR3.
Lighted X & Vinyl X Closure Markers
FAA Advisory Circular AC 150/5370-2G details how temporarily closed runways must be marked. A lighted X is recommended in most circumstances and must be lit at all times while on a runway; flat X markers are permitted when painting isn't possible. Our Lighted X uses a sturdy housing and bright LEDs for day and night visibility. The Vinyl X - tear-resistant, UV-resistant bright yellow polyethylene with optional low profile beanbag anchors - makes marking closed runways a breeze.
Barricade Fence Panels
Barricade fence panels turn a ballasted barricade line into a full-height perimeter. Panels mount to our OTW 42x72 and 32x72 water-filled barricades. If debris or privacy are a concern, custom branded mesh fabric can be added for a more finished appearance.

Jersey barricades are a durable, versatile solution for defining work zones, marking hazards, and creating clear boundaries. It must pose the least potential danger to aircraft: frangible, FOD-free, clear of wingtip height, and sturdy enough to withstand jet blast, prop wash and high-speed winds. Our airport barricades meet FAA AC 150/5370-2G guidance.
AC 150/5370-2G recommends a lighted X, lit at all times while it is on the runway. Where painting isn’t possible, flat X markers made of fabric, colored plastic or plywood are allowed — all must be secured against jet blast to keep the area FOD-free.
