Skijoring meets crowd control barriers
Our classic plastic crowd control barriers made their second appearance at the Winter Roundup in Salt Lake City this year!
The annual Visit Salt Lake (VSL) Winter Roundup was created to celebrate Salt Lake’s dynamic culture and honor the pioneer heritage and traditions of Utah, and it’s a blast for all involved. A day-long event filled with fun, festivities, live music, good eats, and more, the Winter Roundup is an homage to (and in partnership with) the Days of ‘47 Rodeo with a wintry twist. Snow is brought and packed (jumps included) down one of downtown Salt Lake City’s streets, and fun is had by all – those watching skiers, snowboarders, and horses fly down the street and those enjoying everything else the event has to offer.
Skijoring is a prominent draw during the festivities, and OTW has provided rental crowd barricades for crowd management during this event for two years running. (Skijoring is the magic that happens when skiing and snowboarding meet horsepower, and the event is a ton of fun for spectators and participants alike.) To keep guests safe this year, the skijoring track and event space (aka a cordoned-off street in the heart of downtown SLC) was lined with white OTW event barriers to create a defined separation between guests and the action, as well as other parts of the festivities.
The crowd control barriers also served as definition between the event and the still active and busy streets surrounding the blocked-off area. Custom signage directed guests and alerted non-attendees to the event in progress. This year, they nearly tripled the number of barricades rented, ensuring that every section of the event was secure.
OTW is proud to provide some of Utah’s favorite sporting events (U of U football, for one) with safe and secure crowd control year after year, and we love seeing Utah sports barriers and event barricades in action in our community.
