No going bankrupt here: Crowd Control Barriers 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼 Naiopoly 2024

Crowd control barriers might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the hit game Monopoly, but, for NAIOP Utah, Commercial Real Estate Development Association, they’re an essential part of the lifesize version – called Naiopoly – they host each year.  

Naiopoly came to life with a specific goal in mind: for real estate developers, investors, site selectors, brokers, industry providers, etc, to “get in the game and up-to-date on CRE (commercial real estate) developments across the Wasatch Front (NAIOP, 2024)“. 

The commercial real estate world is complex and must be navigated with care. Having experienced professionals to guide new and seasoned commercial buyers alike is essential. From finding the right properties to financing to due diligence on financials, inspections, and any legal or environmental liabilities… to smooth negotiating and buying processes and ongoing maintenance and management plans, it pays off to work with the experts.   

Since 2019 (minus a year off in 2020), NAIOP has been gathering Utah’s CRE industry leaders for this informative and fun event—a chance for those in the commercial real estate business to network, learn, and play the game together. 

So where does OTW come into play?

OTW Safety has long been in the event business. Starting in 2021, OTW Safety was happy to sponsor this local event with NAIOP and provide black Billboard Barricades to help separate “playing spaces” (booths) and direct players around the “board” with custom signage that fits perfectly in the pedestrian barricade inlay. They chose to pair their black crowd control barriers with a custom “Welcome to Naiopoly” sign, directive arrows, and sponsor logos.

A unique and fun use for OTW crowd control barriers 

This year, OTW event barricades were back at Naiopoly once again! While we’ve sponsored the event in the past, this year they used our barricade rental services to procure the perfect number of crowd control barriers. Rented for their gameboard and to line the entrance (directing everyone to the main event inside), every barricade was put to good use. 

We delivered 60 of our black and red crowd barricades to Naiopoly 2024, and this year’s custom signage featured the names of “Top Industry Players” who were presenting at the event. The gameboard barriers used to separate booths remained the same sleek black (with custom signage for each company) as years past, and they added the red event barriers this year for extra impact at the entrance to welcome everyone.
