Contrary to what you might think, parking lots are surprisingly dangerous places – according to the National Safety Council (NSC), tens of thousands of crashes occur in parking lots and garages annually. People are more willing to use devices, eat, or program their GPS while moving in parking lots, feeling “safer” than out on the open road. However, this sense of safety is misguided, as parking lots see hundreds of deaths and injuries every year (nsc.org). Due to distracted driving and lots often found in mediocre condition, vehicle collisions and pedestrian accidents (falling, vehicle impact, etc) are a real concern in parking lots everywhere.

Parking barriers for parking lot maintenance

Over at Hyatt Place in Farmington Station Park, EverLine rented and used OTW Safety road barriers to block off the sections of the parking lot where pavement markings were being refreshed by their team. Using our 32” LCD Barricades to direct cars to other lots while work was in progress, they increased the safety of the employees doing the lot striping and prevented accidents from happening. 

While our parking barriers are a visual and physical deterrent to keep vehicles from entering a space under maintenance, they are still easy to move out of the way to temporarily allow vehicles or equipment to pass through if necessary. As the 32” traffic barricade is thoughtfully designed to have the strength of its larger counterpart (our 42” LCD Barricade) at a smaller size, it is perfect for applications where sturdiness and durability are required, yet easy portability is also key. This portability made it easy for the EverLine team to relocate them when it was time to move to a different section of the lot.
