What are the applications for a vehicle access gate? 

The vehicle and pedestrian gate adapter is a versatile product, great for use in a variety of applications. This kit creates a secure attachment between a security gate and HDPE plastic barricades, which is perfect for establishing entry and exit points in a secure perimeter. Interlocking barricades and fence panels ensure that there are no weak spots, while the gate adapter allows for easy access when necessary. For extra security and privacy, we suggest outfitting the entirety with mesh fabric. \

Here are three ways we often see our gate adapter used for access control. 

General security and access

Most often used at concert venues, festivals, etc, event entry and vehicle access gates define entrances into venues that require extra screening or security measures. Using a gate for event entry ensures that each guest is screened prior to entrance, and that contraband or prohibited items do not enter the venue in vehicles or on someone’s person. The Utah Arts Festival (held June 28-30 this year), for example, uses them annually to ensure that their performers and artists, as well as guests, are as safe as possible. 

Emergency Vehicle area

For events that require quick access for emergency vehicles or have first responders on-site, our security gate is the perfect addition to keep those vehicles secure but available for access in seconds. The vehicle barrier gate, paired with fence panels and our 42” JSS barricades, can form a perimeter of any size with a singular access point. This space can be created in addition to other perimeters on site and will guarantee that help is accessible at a moment’s notice. 

Construction site access

The vehicle access gate kit is an excellent choice for construction sites requiring privacy and strict security, but still have vehicles regularly accessing the site. It easily transforms our construction and traffic barricades and fence panels from security barriers to a perimeter with a security access gate.

Our Vehicle and Pedestrian Gate Adapter Kit was created to integrate seamlessly as a full perimeter solution together with our OTW barricades and Fence Panels. Large or small, temporary site gates can be created by pairing the adapter kit with our OTW42” LCD barricades, as well as our MB32”x72” JSS Barricades. Customizable mesh fence screens are also available to increase privacy and security.

How it works

Easily connect a gate to adjacent barricades with this vehicle access gate accessory kit. All necessary hardware is included to attach to any fence panel made with 1-⅜” round tubing. When installed, the added 59″ steel tube bridges the gap between the fence panel and gate – this allows the gate to swing open past 90 degrees, without hitting the barricades. The gate and adapter fit right into your continuous line of barricades! While OTW barricades are sturdy, don’t forget to ballast the barricades with water before installing the adapter kit. This will ensure that the weight of the gate is properly supported.
