Introducing Our Newest Product: R-Zero’s Arc With Innovative UV-C Light Sanitation

AUV-C Light Sanitation

We all wish this pandemic was over. We want life to go back to normal, where we can feel we and our loved ones are safe. We have work to do, and daily routines we miss. However, if there’s one thing we’ve learned, we can’t go back— but we can create a new normal, and it is clear that infection prevention is key to making that happen. At OTW, safety is what we do, and now partnering with R-Zero, we are excited to bring the Arc UV-C light sanitation tower on board to help keep our spaces cleaner and safer for our communities both now and in the future.

This Light Is No Lightweight

So what is UV-C sanitation? UV-C is a specific type of ultraviolet light that can destroy bacteria, molds and viruses, including those like coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, influenza, E. coli, and norovirus (just to name a few). The UV-C light disrupts the molecular bonds of the DNA and RNA of these microorganisms, rendering them inactive or destroying them completely.

It’s hard to believe that something as simple as a light can be so effective, but don’t be fooled— this lightweight device packs a punch. In as little as 7 minutes, the powerful Arc UV-C will clinically disinfect a space, tested and proven to destroy 99.99% of both surface and airborne pathogens. While the R-Zero Arc is a fantastic new way to make this technology very accessible, it is not new. Hospitals have been using this technology since the 1930s, with studies proving its effectiveness for over 100 years. The Arc is simply an updated, easy-to-use version that can be used in almost any space, by almost anyone.

In fact, R-Zero has helped maintain a 0% COVID-19 transmission at LeRoy Community School District while keeping students and staff in person.

Additionally, since the Arc simply uses light to disinfect, you have no harmful chemicals, meaning it is safe to use around things like toys and food, and it is much safer for the environment.

Safety For All

The Arc UV-C and its intuitive design brings hospital-grade sanitation into almost any space, with floor-to-ceiling coverage up to 5,000 square feet! It has a powerful array with 360-degree lighting, and is able to disinfect many spaces and configurations. Even areas that are not directly lit (if you were wondering, what about the shadows?), the light bends and bounces around the space and disinfects these spaces as well. If you are concerned about full coverage, you can run a cycle in a couple of spots around the room, R-Zero even has UV-sensitive cards to test the level of disinfection anywhere you place them— so you can see for yourself!

Before you are intimidated by its almost sci-fi design, know that this piece of high-tech equipment was made to do all the work for you. No formal training is required for use— at the push of a button, the Arc will disinfect your space in as little as 7 minutes, with a simple lighting system to indicate the different cleaning cycle stages.

Rzero Arc easy to use software

It even comes with software for you to manage your devices and see quick analytics from anywhere! It’s lightweight and on wheels, so it can be moved around quickly and easily, then can be locked into place where it will remain stable. As nimble as it is, it is built from solid steel and aircraft-grade aluminum, so it’s strong and durable- it’s going to stick around for a while!

An ROI To Be Proud Of

Investing in your employees’ and clients’ health and safety not only builds their confidence in you (and gives you that good feeling from doing the right thing), it holds cost-effective benefits in both the current crisis as well as beyond it. Outside of just COVID-19, schools and businesses are impacted by contagious illnesses year after year. U.S. employers see costs of $530 billion per year due to illness-related lost productivity (Integrated Benefits Institute, November 2018). When people get sick, they can’t work, they can’t buy, they can’t support, simple as that. So by cutting illness-related costs along with not having to pay for a constant supply of chemicals and refills, or special equipment like electrostatic sprayers (and trained extra staff to use them) or PPE gear, the return on your investment is clear in both the short- and long-term. What’s more, R-Zero’s Arc comes with software so you can access your equipment and analytics in a personalized dashboard to see (and show off) exactly how effective your devices are.

A New, Safe Normal For Everyone

Of course as cases are still rising, COVID-19 is at the forefront of all our minds, but the truth is, infection prevention is something that should be a new safety standard for now and the future. Spaces like our businesses and schools are affected every year by infections like influenza and the common cold. Reducing the spread of these microorganisms has a positive effect on both a financial level as well as all of our quality of life. Due to extra pandemic response measures, Western Australian children had a decrease in the flu by a huge 99.4%, even with the schools being open with in-person classes (Clinical Infectious Diseases, September 2020). With R-Zero’s Arc UV-C light technology, you can send a message to your community that you have their health and safety in mind. With its ease of use, cost-effectiveness and powerful capabilities, it just makes sense to make the Arc a part of your new normal.
